filmfare has not nominated aamir for talaash but srk for jthj 😀

      sputnik 11 years ago

Well Aamir boycotts Filmfare awards and is not interested in them anyways. He should withdraw like Lata/Asha and not even be nominated 😉

Seriously speaking Aamir deserves a nomination for Talaash. I have not seen GOW but Irfan, Hrithik deserve the nominations. Paresh Rawal also deserves a nomination for OMG. I did not like Ranbir in Barfi except one scene. Ayushman Khurana was also good in VD.

OMG deserves a best film nomination. I don’t know why it is being ignored at awards. Its not even being nominated when crap films have been nominated in the past.

  2. mate 11 years ago

LoL at Best actor in a Supporting Category, 1 maha crap performance is included in between 4 outstanding performances. Guess Who? 😀
As far as Best actor is concerned, they will definitely give it to Ranbir. Irfan may get Critics’ choice. Best Music award is locked for Pritam, I’m 200% sure as they didn’t nominate Rahman.

  3. Shinji 11 years ago

Well, the reason is last time they used Aamir’s name in promotion of award ( i guess mangal pandey pic) when he was nominated, he sued them for xyz crores of Rs.

Also did anyone note, SRK is the 6th nominee, and most the main nominations only have 5, so clearly SRK, was the odd one out and placedthere out of the respect Filmfare shares with him. I guess he will be hosting again.

      sputnik 11 years ago

That was in 2006. He has been nominated many times after that for RDB, TZP, Ghajini and 3I. They have also awarded him in absence as Best Actor (Critics) for RDB and Best Film and Best Director for TZP.

According to wikpedia Filmfare has been having 6 nominations for Best Actor since 2007 except for the year 2011. There are 6 nominations for Best Actor in the year 2010 too and there was no SRK nomination that year as he did not have any release except for Billu.

    • mate 11 years ago

“Also did anyone note, SRK is the 6th nominee, and most the main nominations only have 5.”

Yes Shinji dear, I note that all the nominees are given alphabatically, I also note that Best Actress category have also the same number of nominees as Best Actor category. Thanks for your notification. 😀

And as per your logic, Vidya Balan is the most odd choice, as she also mentioned in the last. 😉

  4. Shinji 11 years ago

Actor Aamir Khan has sued Filmfare for Rs 21 crore for using his photograph without his permission and attributing false quotes to him. The legal notice was sent to the publishers of the magazine Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd on February 22.
The bone of contention is an advertisement that appeared in the Times of India on February 20 in which the actors photograph was used to promote the Filmfare Awards. The following quote was attributed to him. “I incited a revolt to win her over!” His lawyer stated that Aamir Khan never said the words. He had never given permission to use his photograph to promote the awards function.

Another interesting thing, JAb Tak Hai Jaan have got 5 nominations in Music categories, 2 for Best Lyricist and Best Playback (Female) each and 1 for Male Playback, but still ignored in Best Music category. Hard Luck for Rahman. While GOW and SOTY don’t have single nominee in Singers and Lyricist categories but still being nominated in Best Music. Strange.
I don’t know why they nominate Sonu for such an ordinary song. I think Farah Khan tweet did wonders for him, she was the very first one who predicted all the awards for him in a tweet, and look how he manage to bag the attention in every award show and I think he already bagged one of these major awards. So his win here too, can’t be ruled out. Anyway I want him to win as he was ignored 1 or 2 times (If I remember correctly in a year when Himesh was given the award) when he was rightfully deserved so this award is to compensate the previous injustice, though Rabbi and Ayyushmann may give him tough time.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui may won as he has the most number of ‘good’ performances amongst the all. 😉 But seriously all the performances in that category except the first one are equally outstanding.

  6. Shinji 11 years ago

    LOL ya mate my blooper!

I should have seen it properly! but then it’s the case of odd one out, SRK is the odd one out! and Kareena is odd one out in actress!

If she was to be nominated it should be for talaash and not for heroine.

But clearly SRK was pushed, not to hurt his ego.

But anyways as i said, i should have seen best actress choices, my bad!

  7. mate 11 years ago

I think If anything can hurt his ego, that is loosing an award, not loosing a nomination. Because winning an award for him is more what nominating for his contemporaries. And If you want to see whether or not his ego is hurted, just check the last year Filmfare Awards function, did you see a gesture of this kind to one of the rivals, that SRK gave to Ranbir, when the latter was called for Best Actor. However there is no deny saying that the ego of a particular star is hurted When he boycott award functions because not giving him preference over the other.
And you don’t need to tell that was a blooper, because I always expect from an Aamir’s fan when they comment on their hated star. 😉

  8. usama 11 years ago

i hope k sonu nigam wins best singer award

  9. ank_16n 11 years ago

If Salman khan can be nominated for best Actor(Read Actor)
    and
Vicky Donor for best picture(I m from North India and there was no exceptional thing about the movie and Do Doni Chaar was 1000 times better than this Average movie VD)

then any thing is possible in Film awards Seriously..!!

  10. ank_16n 11 years ago

BTW which GOW (part 1 or 2) is nominated for Best Film….???

  11. Suprabh 11 years ago

so Filmfare have again shown their Aukaat. Nominated the joke of a performance for best actor just for the heck of it. Ignored the best movie and performance of the year.

Also the official #CPRsong “Saans” has been nominated for best lyrics… hahahahhaahahahahhaa LMAO

    • ank_16n 11 years ago

don’t forget Challa and Neeti Mohan for Jiya Re…what were they thinking..!!

    • Baba Ji 11 years ago

LOL! mujhe baas aayi was a joke . anyway with filmfare you can always expect the jokes 😀

  12. Bored 11 years ago

@sputnik – Agree all around, Aamir, Paresh and OMG def deserve nominations for Best Actor and Best Film.

    • Baba Ji 11 years ago

OMG is not a mohtaj of these crap awards. ppl know its the best film of the year.

  13. mate 11 years ago

This is a very good move by the jury to avoid a crap film like Talaash and a terrible performance by it’s lead actor. So just like the audience who throw this garbage out of the cinemas within a week, I appreciate the honorable Filmfare Award jury for not selecting it just for the sake of a so-called big star, otherwise it might feel the whole nomination list look like rubbish. I think the only awards that can justify Aamir’s act in Talaash are Ghanta Awards.

  14. aryan 11 years ago

What about Ek Tha Tiger which was biggest collection at the box office in 2012 not even consider for best director or best film category 😉

  15. hithere 11 years ago

If you start nominating small movies and not so popular actors, then who would come at the award show and perform? Do you think it is possible that SRK, Salman and Kareena performing and Nawazuddin and Richa Chadda winning.

    • ank_16n 11 years ago

Did u just said Salman and Dance…lol..
my mistake i just read that..!!

  16. Bored 11 years ago

LOL … SRK and the likes will dance if you throw them enuf money too. But then these award shows will become ten times more expensive.

  17. Serenzy 11 years ago

  18. TheSpecial_Khiladi 11 years ago

    To Start with
Best Film ,Filmfare Not Nominating OMG which was Clearly One of the Best Films of 2012.

Best Actor —-Again Paresh Rawal was Ignored and Even Akshay Kumar Deserved to be Nominated for Rowdy Rathore 1000 Times More than SRK for JTHJ and Salman for ETT.

Best Music —- Nominating JTHJ for Best Lyrics was
a Joke of 2012 .SOTY an
d ISHAAQZAADE were Good but Khiladi786 Desrved a Nomination for Best Music

  19. Aditya007 11 years ago

ha ha ha disgusting filmfare ne Apni Aukat dikha di ‘JTHJ’ ko nominate karke even they left OMG ,Kya Juery hai.
Really all Bollywood Paid awards are The mediam of entertainment except National Awards.

    • Reddemon 11 years ago

      Aditya007
When did they nominate ‘JTHJ’ for best film?

      National awards are fare?
      Are u sure?
I lost all respect for national awards when Saif was given best actor award for Hum Tum instead of SRK for Swades

anyways these awards are just a perspective of a community so it should not matter much. What matters is art, quality and Boxoffice.

      • Aditya007 11 years ago

        Reddemon,
When I said for best film? I were only mean, Kya JTHJ ka music best tha? Kya anuska sharma ne better acting ki thi? Ye to tum khud hi jante ho!
Btw About National awards , They cann’t false except that time IMO.

        • Reddemon 11 years ago

‘ha ha ha disgusting filmfare ne Apni Aukat dikha di ‘JTHJ’ ko nominate karke’
obviously JTHJ will get nominated in best film category only and not for best actor or song

JTHJ music was not best but surely among top5 imo

  20. SYED IMRAN 11 years ago

rytly said bro… vicky donor was strictly below average movie… dont knw y da media nd da ppl hypd it so much.. there was nothing unsual about the film and yes it wasn’t vry funny too xcpt fr a fw gags here and there… ajeeb duniya hain yeh

  21. SYED IMRAN 11 years ago

my dear i think even national awards have becom paid i gues… remember raveena tandon award for a stupid movie like daman… she won it… ha ha and saif for hum tum…

  22. TheSpecial_Khiladi 11 years ago

Everyone knows that all Awards are Paid Nowadays.I dont Understand why Paid Media Does a Gungho about these things.Useless Nomination chahiye to Show Host Karo.Koi Chnls ke Show kar Raha hai to Use Award De do Aakhir Trp to wahin Lata hai etc etc ………..Shame on the Awards of Today

  23. Sumit Sinha 11 years ago

no nominations forHimesh(25 hits in a row) khiladi 786 in music which was the most popular and best selling album and they are giving nominations to JTHJ crap for music….damn you filmfare.

  24. mate 11 years ago

According to an insider, the Filmfare jury decided to drop Jab Tak Hai Jaan from the nominees list at the last moment. A person associated with Filmfare Magazine on the condition of not disclosing his name, told that the jury members unanimously agreed to the fact that JTHJ is a vintage Yash Chopra’s romance, and arguably his best work till date. But as the award ceremony held on Yashraj Studio since long, so the selection of JTHJ may raise many eyebrows and the detractors may question the credibility of the award show which is already at stake. Moreover, a movie star who apparently kept himself away from these award shows, went berserk for nominating his rival’s movie but missing his own. So in order to avoid the ulterior motives of that particular star and his gang, they decided to drop JTHJ from three major categories. Though JTHJ was a cinematic triumph but to sacrifice a classic in order to get rid of a Shiit is not a deficit deal, he added further.

  26. harish 11 years ago

They did not nominate aamir khan for best actor they dis from several years that the movie which is highley appreciable people are not nomnated for best film vd was average pst was also average but why kahaani they will again choose vidya balan for best actress and ranbir for best actor. Dis is the reason why bollywood iz not growing bcoz people do not get appreciation wat work they work for they whole year I think hollywood iz better then bollywood they atleast think that who iz capable for wat ranbir barfi whole copy of charlie chaplin and mr bean if u will dis to oscar its will be confirm kick out beacuse they original movie like lagaan and mother indian which was meaning and good movie

Thankfully, they Choose Gauri Shinde over Karan Malhotra.

OMG! being one of the Most Loved Movies and a 83cr earner is Going Empty Handed when even I Think the Story of OMG! and Paresh’s Natural Acting Deserves a Lot More Applause.

    .

Anushka Doesn’t Deserve it at All.

Maybe they are giving it to her bcz Kareena isn’t Attending the Awards this Year.

Heck, even Diana Penty and Dolly Ahluwalia are Way Better wrt Anushka in JTHJ.

    • cr7 11 years ago

      diana penty ,seriously?

    • mate 11 years ago

      Serenzy dear,
I agree that Anushka is not deserving at all, but Diana is not either. I don’t know whether it’s me or there’s any other too, who find Ileana’s performance the most deserving for the awards. She was extra-ordinary, and every inch into the character. Many disagree but I think she is the screen-stealer in Barfi.

  33. mate 11 years ago

I think this is the time for the Filmfare management to amalgamate the critics’ and popular categories. In the present age, when the voting audience is mature enough to consider things atleast with a lay-man point of view, that often come to the near-accurate conclusion, so there is not much a difference between their choices. Hence, the popular category have lost all it’s significance in these circumstances, as it’s more or less the same as critics’, so only by merging popular and critics’ categories into each other, they can maintain their prestige among the masses (for the awards, that are being followed and appreciated by billions). Though it will be a nice ‘going forward’ by the management but they should not leave it entirely to the discretion of a specific jury (permanent or temporary), I think, that stage has not yet come, when they may adopt Oscar kind of procedure (Neither their movies are of that calibre), otherwise, the aftermath would be as horrendous and laugh-worthy, as movies like ‘1971’ and ‘Traffic Signal’, emerging as winners, and Saif as best actor. As it used to happen occasionally in National Awards, though there are lot of other factors like political involvement there, to cherish a particular lobby.
I find Filmfare Awards the most prestigious not because their choices resembles with my own, but because of their consistency in procedure, they adopted over the years. I still remember Star Screen ceremony, of season 2008, when they started giving more weightage to Best Actor (Critics’ choice), just for giving favor to their favourite star (at that time), that eventually were given with the name of ‘Best Actor’, showing that it’s more important. Atleast these things did’nt happen in Filmfare, though that award was given to the same person as in Star Screen but Filmfare did’nt change their rules. As far as predictability is concerned, even Oscars are predictable now-a-days, you can find as many detractors as its lovers, so that’s not a big deal.
All I want to say (being a follower and admirer of Filmfare Awards since long), they should maintain their old but not antiquated method of giving 50% weightage to each popular and critics, but minimizing the popular effect in each category, hence demolish the separate category with the name of Critics’, that only create confusion in audiences’ mind. Only in this way, they can survive and keep their identity in the presence of numourous awards functions.

    • Author
      sputnik 11 years ago

Star Screen Awards were always jury based. They were not Popular Choice from the beginning and were created in 1995 as a counter to Filmfare Awards and billed as the Indian Oscars (if I remember right). The first year the jury was headed by Dilip Kumar and the awards were very good for the year 1994. But the next year the jury was headed by Vijay Anand and Best actor was won by SRK for Ram Jaane 😀 So it all depends on how good the jury is.

Filmfare was always more about popular choice (except in early late 70s and early 80s where they were awarded by critics) and sometimes they used the Best Actor (Critics) to give it those who actually deserved the Best Actor/Actress awards when they did not win the popular choice. Filmfare will always award the Best Actor to top stars (Amitabh, SRK, Hrithik and now Ranbir) and have been awarding only them the last 10+ years.

Filmfare has a legacy of over 60 years and its a shame that they don’t take their legacy seriously. Yes there should be only one category. These critics category or popular category dilute the whole awards.

      • hithere 11 years ago

If you look at this year’s Screen award winners, they look much better than what you see everywhere. But agree in general these awards have no meaning. Some of them are genuine but they get obscured in sea of popular”, “critics” and “Icons” messpool.

        • Author
          sputnik 11 years ago

Screen always has the advantage of being the first awards of the year. They usually drive the winners for that year. Awards that come later including Filmfare mirror many of their choices.

I think a easy way to remove allegations of actors being awarded in lieu of performances/hosting is by not allowing those who have been nominated that year from performing/hosting. And they need to get rid of those made up awards which even a kid can tell like International/Style Icon or Power Award or Jodi of the Year and so on.

@Sputnik – In the late seventies and early eighties FF gave awards to critics choice mainly to not award Amitabh and thus not to go against the popular media trend of shrugging at Bachchan’s superstardom.

Apart from that phase FF was always popular choice awards and still remains so. But FF defines popularity in a class-oriented way rather than the massy favorites. Thats why Salman/Akshay/Devgn never has a chance of winning FF no matter how much ETT/D2 like movies gross.

Ever since SRK started missing out on big grosses, his FF wins have dwindled. Since they wont award Salman, so they will go for Ranbir for two reasons – he is a better actor than srk/salman and also a kapoor scion – an easy choice.

If JTHJ had done 150 cr SRK wud have been grinning now. When Hrithik signs something like AP – he doesnt stand a chance but a massive grosser in Krrish will win him all awards – so on and so forth.

The irony of the situation is that the disgruntled bunch of Salman and ajay have starting saying awards are biased and dont matter and blahblah – which in turn has diluted Aamir’s genuine stance towards these awards.

    • Author
      sputnik 11 years ago

Amitabh should have won for Deewar but Sanjeev Kumar won for Aandhi. Have not seen Arjun Pandit but Sanjeev Kumar won Best Actor for it. I think he was brilliant in Mausam that same year. Amitabh did win for Amar Akbar Anthony and Don the next two years. Amol Palekar won for Golmaal which was well deserved. Have not seen Aakrosh and Chakra for which Naseer won. I doubt people would have voted for Naseer for Aakrosh and Chakra. DIlip for Shakti, Naseer for Masoom, Anupam Kher for Saaransh and Kamal Haasan for Saagar were all well deserved or considered appropriate during those times.

I don’t think Salman/Akshay/Ajay will win any Best Actor Awards at Filmfare just the way Dharmendra/Jeetendra/Vinod Khanna never won any Best Actor Awards.

Last year Rockstar did only 65 Cr and Don 2 did 109 Cr but Ranbir still won. This year Agneepath did more than Barfi but still Ranbir won. It is because these roles have a acting perception associated with them. I don’t think SRK would have won for JTHJ even if it did 150 Cr. SRK did win for MNIK and he will win again if he does a role that has acting perception associated with it. Yes being a top star or star son is a requirement. If Irfan Khan or Kay Kay Menon do these roles they are not going to win.

Ha Ha. Why Salman/Ajay even Imran Khan has been saying awards are biased 😉

sputnik – fully agreed. a nice analysis.particularly with the “perception of acting” among big stars thing. this is all ff looks ar.

“These critics category or popular category dilute the whole awards.”

    Exactly.!

The ‘Best Villian/Comedy’ Category shud also be Scrapped.

Winners in Story/Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing and Choreography shud be Shown More” Respect”, by Not Editing out their Acceptance Speeches.g

Filmfare has scrapped Villain/Comedy category but many people take “Supporting” literally. Annu Kapoor was good and I liked him in VD but Rishi lost because he was in a negative role in Agneepath and that isn’t “Supporting” according to them.

Agree. I saw Screen Awards over the weekend and they edited out Javed Akhtar’s speech.

i just rechecked the technical awards. even that it a big joke. best action to gow? it had any action? 😀 choreography to aunti ji ?

Action should have gone to Agneepath. Aunty Ji had no choreography.

Sanjeev Kumar winning awards is like Abhay Deol winning awards today. FF will only ignore Ranbir and let Abhay win, if they have an agenda against Ranbir – otherwise the star gets the preference.

But agree that certain type of roles have the perception of better acting by critics and audience alike in India – and the retarded act is definitely one of them – be it SRK for MNIK, Hrithik for KMG or Ranbir/Priyanka for Barfi.
    What a retarded fascination!

Sanjeev Kumar was a star actor and as I said he did not deserve it for Aandhi. The only logical reason I can come up for Amitabh not winning for Deewar is may be because it was a anti hero role. Anyway he was robbed.

Aandhi and Mausam were hits back then if I am not wrong. I don’t think Amitabh’s performance in Kabhi Kabhie was an award winning performance.

Playing disabled characters (physically or mentally) will always get awards whether in India or Hollywood.

  43. Bored 11 years ago

Sanjeev was hardly a star, wudnt call him a star actor like say sashi kapoor who did some good parallel cinema inspite of being a star.

Problem with bollywood’s disabled characters is that the stars blow it over the top.

Abhay is not a star. I don’t think ordinary people consider Abhay a star yet. May be some people online do.

Sanjeev’s movies like Koshish, Aandhi, Mausam, Angoor which were middle of the road with Gulzar were hits I believe. He did not work with Govind Nihalani or Shyam Benegal. Acting wise he was leagues ahead of Abhay. There is no comparison whatsoever.

Shashi who was obviously more good looking than Sanjeev was initially a star in those romantic movies. He played second fiddle or sidekick to Amitabh in most of 70s movies. His parallel cinema movies that he did like Junoon and Kalyug won awards too (deservedly) which I doubt were hits or would have won awards if voted by public. I think Shashi did those movies to prove his acting potential.

I think its a bit too farfetched to think that Filmfare will award those parallel cinema movies and actresses from those movies like Shabana and Smita Patil just to deny Amitabh awards.

And I don’t understand this. Today people bash Filmfare for awarding stars and not actors but bash Filmfare for awarding actors and not Amitabh in the late 70s and 80s?

“SRK for MNIK, Hrithik for KMG or Ranbir/Priyanka for Barfi”

    Disagree.

All Mentioned here were Excellent in their Roles even if Not Award-Worthy than atleast in My Top5 of Respective Years.

Devgn is ‘Main Aisa Hi Hoon’, Salman in ‘Kyon Ki’ and even Aamir in Ghajini to an Extent is Gimmicky and OTT.

Even Bachchan in PAA was Superb though Movie was Average[Cheeni Kum/EV, A Better Movies].

Patekar in Khamoshi was Good and Sputnik always Praises Sanjeev Kumar for Khamosh.

    That Reminds Me..
Has Akshay Kumar ever played a Character [CC2C and Tees Maar Khan are Not to be taken into Account 😉 ]

    ** Has Akshay Kumar ever
    played a “Retarded” Character?

  46. Bored 11 years ago

Its not bashing but pointing FF’s double standards. Like I said, neither Sanjeev nor Abhay are considered stars by too many people. Their likes may get a rare award or two as a byproduct of political agenda.

Even FF’s bias towards class popularity dont make much sense. They have a history no doubt, but no consistency and too biased to be taken seriously.

  47. Ameet Khandka 11 years ago

That is the reason why Aamir does not attand awards because they are all paid and fixed like our cricket matches!!

Talaash was one of the best movies. kareena gave one of her finest performance… movie made above 100 cr… i think filmfare has lost its value!! So here also there is corruption….. there is always a award fixed for SRK….!! don’t know why???

  48. Bored 11 years ago

We were actually dissecting FF awards with much more substance than a barrage of fictional non-factual opinions like SRK got a FF award, Talaash did 100 cr, Talaash was the best movie and whatnot.

  49. Bored 11 years ago

I think SRK deserved the awards he got for Baazigar, DDLJ, Swades and CDI.

But the awards he got for DTPH, KKHH, Devdas and MNIK were a big joke. Those awards shud have gone to the leads of Virasat, Zakhm, TLOGS and Guzaarish in the respective years -only if commercial moolah was not a stupid criteria for FF juries.

  50. Bored 11 years ago

On similar lines, I think Hrithik deserved the best actor awards for KNPH and JA. But instead of KMG & Dhoom/Krrish he shud have got it for Guzaarish and Agneepath.

Ranbir deserved it for Rocket Singh, but instead got for Rockstar and Barfi.

    Shit happens …

Srk’s performance in devdas was critically acclaimed and so he was awarded. Same was the case with MNIK.
I think u didnt got the authors Point. He said (as per his observations) it requires critical as well as commercial acclain to win the Best actor award. So a Guzzarish or Rocket singh is out of question. And i think Hrithik got the award for KNPH.

  52. Bored 11 years ago

Aamir imo deserved the awards for JJWS, Sarfarosh, Lagaan and RDB in those respective years, but only got one for Lagaan. And some silly jury awarded him for RH! He was been victimized most by the agendas of these awards.

Always felt his stance towards award ceremonies was justified. After Guzaarish and Agneepath Hrithik will be aware of them now, and Ranbir is too young and fresh to question the fact he is now the favored one. He wont be so enthusiastic when later on his better acting chops will be ignored for some reason or the other.

    • Reddemon 11 years ago

JJWS – liked aamir’s performance in JJWS but amitabh was equally good in khuda gawah imo.
Sarfarosh- aamirs performance was medicore and the awar was rightly given to highly deserving Sanju baba
      lagaan- he was deserving
RDB – if you think that aamir deserved award for his act in RDB than you should not say that “the awards he got for DTPH, KKHH, Devdas and MNIKwere a big joke”

  53. Bored 11 years ago

@Red – the indicine author hardly has a point here. IF the awards were fair then the Best Actor award shud go to the best acting in the mainstream bollywood cinema – not anything else whatsoever!

  54. Reddemon 11 years ago

And how will you decide who is the best actor?? Either by public votes or by critics verdict or both. And thats what FF is doing (with few manipulations).

  55. Prashant Chandola 11 years ago

Aamir was the worst thing about RDB
