Suicide Squad
Best Documentary Feature goes to OJ: Made in America
Best Sound Editing goes to Arrival.
Best Sound Mixing goes to Hacksaw Ridge.
Viola Davis wins Best Supporting Actress for Fences.
Best Foreign Language Film goes to “The Salesman” (Iran)
A political decision . Salesman didn’t win anywhere else . It gained momentum post travel ban .
Oscars are completely political now. I think Mahershala Ali also won because of the same reason. He is the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar.
I can understand Ali winning .Not a lengthy role but he was very good . He didn’t have stiff competition.
Haven’t watched all nominated movies but I thought his role would be bigger or will be more consequential. Agree that he was good. Did not like Dev Patel. Felt like he was overacting or his role unnecessarily emotional. Lucas Hedges was very good but he did not have any emotional scenes except the freezer scene.
The White Helmets wins Best Documentary Short Subject. I think its another political decision.
Piper wins Best Short Film, Animated
Zootopia wins Best Animated Feature Film
La La Land wins Best Production Design
Just the start . Will win at least 6-7 ,could get more.
The Jungle Book wins Best Visual Effects. Well deserved.
Hacksaw Ridge wins Best Editing.
La La Land wins Best Cinematography as predicted.
La La Land wins Best Original Score as expected.
City of Stars wins Best Original Song as predicted.
Excellent. Manchester by the Sea wins Best Original Screenplay as predicted.
Moonlight wins Best Adapted Screenplay as expected.
Damien Chazelle wins Best Director for La La Land.
Yoohoo Cassey Affleck wins Best Actor as predicted. Well deserved.
Emma Stone wins Best Actress. Did not expect this.
La La Land wins Best Picture. It was good but did not deserve this.
Manchester by the Sea deserved this. Even Moonlight deserved it more than this.
WTF This is so embarassing
So Moonlight wins Best Picture. Wanted Manchester by the Sea to win this but will take Moonlight winning it over La La Land.
For me Hacksaw Ridge was an better than ok movie, sort of between average and lil better than average. I really liked some parts but most of the parts found just ok. I didn’t find acting also great.
Basically nothing great. But I am surprised that it is nominated for oscar and have good rating on IMDB also. probably missed something.
Hell of High water was a good movie and again didn’t find it great, But one of my friend was really enthusiastic about it after watching it. Its IMDB rating goes with what I would have rated it. So was bit surprised there also, though not as much as for Hacksaw Ridge.
La La Land was a very good movie movie and it had scenes which moved me. It was definitely worthy of nomination but no so much for win. (upon comparing with old winners)
Haven’t seen other movies in the list.
