Have not watched any of the movies nominated except Despicable Me 2. Did not like it and it was not as good as the first one.

    So no nominations for Prisoners.

Time to start watching these movies.

      Thanks for sharing Sputnik.

Rush is a must watch – fantastic movie based on real life events. Very well directed. Some great dialogues.

Gravity is a real visual treat. Shows you what can be achieved with a great vision and technology at your disposal.

      • Prem 10 years ago

        Agree.

Have seen Rush, Gravity & Despicable Me 2 from the above list.

Despicable Me 2 was average. The Croods has better chances of wining.

The ones to actors in movies that havent released yet (August:Osage County, The Wolf Of Wall Street) are based on rushes and reports. Havent seen the movies personally yet.

  3. cr7 10 years ago

Haven’t seen most of them . Because good prints are not available .God knows when good prints will be out. Have to start watching them soon . Looks like 12 years a slave is a strong contender for oscar .Nominated for almost all categories .Also the issue is slavery . Watched only Captain Philips among the nominated movies . And its surely a deserving one .

In Tv category It should be breaking bad hands down .Bryan Cranston should win best actor.best comedy should go to the big bang theory .Modern Family is a strong contender too . Jim parsons should win best actor in comedy .

    • shan 10 years ago

Breaking Bad has tough competition from House of Cards this year. Kevin Spacey has done a fantastic job. But seems like Breaking Bad will win this year, being the last season as well as considering it is widely regarded as one of the best seasons of TV ever.

      • cr7 10 years ago

I have just started house of cards .And loving it .And what can I say about kavin Spacey . he is one of the finest actor today . But breaking bad was something special .I haven’t seen anything like that ever in TV .Bryan Cranston’s performance was epic. Aaron Paul should win best supporting actor too .Btw surprised to see no nomination for Jeff Daniels. He was brilliant in Newsroom . And I’m so happy to see GG snubbed homeland completely .Not a single nomination 😀 .

        • shan 10 years ago

Agree on Breaking Bad. Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston totally deserve the acting awards.

  4. narad_muni 10 years ago

    have watched Gravity only.
Liked it but its more of a technological brilliance rather than anything else. I am surprised it got nominations in best director or best actress category. And one more thing, it’s a theatre movie only – no point in watching it at home.

I am planning to watch the rest soon but none of them have good prints available.
Let me know if anyone has a link to a good print.

    • cr7 10 years ago

Captain Philips webrip is available .If u r okay with hardcoded chinese subtitles then u can check it .Its a decent print .

  5. aryan 10 years ago

Two movies on my watch list Gravity & Captain Philips.

So no nomination for Rush in Best Film but only in Outstanding British film?

Woody Allen getting nominated for ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY for Blue Jasmine is a joke. The movie is basically a modern day adaptation of A Streetcar Named Desire.

Here is the whole story of A Streetcar Named Desire for those who have watched Blue Jasmine.

      Link

      • cr7 10 years ago

Yeah .Rush should have been nominated . Yet to see american Hustle and Philonema but Rush was better than Gravity .

Surprised to see “Blue is the warmest color” getting nominated for best foreign film category .Seen the movie .Other than explicit lesbian scenes it was boring . The past and broken circle breakdown was better .Have downloaded The Great Beauty .

        • Author
          sputnik 10 years ago

Had downloaded American Hustle but am waiting for a better print – same with Gravity. Will watch Captain Philips in a day or two.

So who do you think was better among Daniel Bruhl in Rush and Michael Fassbender in 12 Years a Slave?

          • cr7 10 years ago

Both of them were very good . But I guess Michael Fassbender was slightly better.

Have u seen Dallas Buyers club?Jared leto having good oscar buzz for Best Supporting actor so is Matthew McConaughey for best actor . Movie got good reviews too .

    @cr7,

No have not seen Dallas Buyers club. Had seen Matthew McConaughey’s pictures where he lost lot of weight for the movie.

Ah Jared Leto is dressed up as a woman. I saw this tweet for Golden Globes Best Supporting Actor nominations earlier today and I was wondering who that was.

    • cr7 10 years ago

No surprise . Expecting breaking bad to win at least 2 categories .Best drama, best actor.Dinklage will surely win best supporting actor . Fargo should win best miniseries .Billy Bob is a clear favorite to win best actor(Miniseries) Best supporting actress category will be interesting . Cersei(Leena) and Skyler(anna gun) both were excellent . Good to see no nomination for Emilia clarke

      • saurabh 10 years ago

I think 2 awards for sure for BB, best drama and actor…
Other two are little tough but then also Paul have better chances and he is my personal choice too as i think He was seriously effortless…
Actress also Anna looks stronger to me.. and I want her to win as Leena have many other seasons to win..
I am also glad that Clarke is not nominated, I always liked Cersi a better written character, Leena a better actor and then in sexual appeal too, I find Leena sexier than Clarke..

        • cr7 10 years ago

Couldn’t agree more on Leena .I like her a lot .

I like Aaron paul too for the same reason you do . He’s effortless . But It’ll be Breaking Bad’s last 8 episode vs GOT season 4 .BB’s last 8 episode was more about Walt than PInkman . And Dinklage was the main character in GOT season 4 . So he’ll have an edge . I would be happy if either of them wins . Both are my favorites .
