Best Film for 12 Years a Slave is as expected.

Best Director for Alfonso Cuarón, Gravity is also as expected though I don’t think he deserves it.

Chiwetel Ejiofor did not deserve Best Actor. They did not even nominate the deserving one Matthew McConaughey.

Best Actress for Cate Blanchett is as expected but they did not even nominate Meryl Streep.

Have not watched Captain Phillips but they did not even nominate Jared Leto which is ridiculous.

Jennifer Lawrence was good in part but it was kind of repeat of her performance from Blue Silver Linings Playbook. Lupita deserved it for 12 Years a Slave.

American Hustle did not deserve Best Original Screenplay. They did not have Her nominated.

Best Cinematography, Special Visual Effects, Best Sound is as expected for Gravity

Well deserved win for Rush for Best Editing

Chiwetel Ejiofor for best actor ? Shit .I was sure Mathew mcconaughey will win oscar . But now looks like it’ll be a tough fight . Other tan best actor its pretty much on expected lines . Some unworthy winners in every award show .

I still think Mathew will win the Oscar. Even the nomination for Chiwetel is a stretch. They did not even nominate Mathew and Jared at the BAFTAs who will most probably win the Oscars.

Don’t be so sure. McConaughey is in terrific form right now. But from what I’ve read, Ejiofor might challenge him. Haven’t seen 12 years a slave (Racism films aren’t my thing), so I can’t talk about his performance. Don’t get the hype around Jennifer Lawrence. Her’s was the weakest performance (over overacting) in AH, especially that Live and Let Die scene. Gravity will haul technical awards (cinematography, original score, vfx, Sound editing)

I think all the Award Committees have decided to copy each other.
3 movies are getting all the awards this year – 12 years a slave, Gravity and American Hustle. And I didn’t like any of them much ! All three are okay but nothing gr8. Gravity getting the technical awards is understandable but not the other ones.
