TFF – Kandukondein Kandukondein – Tamil Movie with English Subtitles
Check out the Tamil movie Kandukondein Kandukondein with English subtitles
Synopsis: Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel, Sense And Sensiblity, ‘Kandukondein Kandukondein’ is the tale of the trials and tribulations in the life of two sisters. Soumya (Tabu) is matured and practical, while Meenakshi (Aishwarya Rai) lives in her own dreamy and poetic world. Sowmya is considered unlucky because every boy who has come to see her for marriage has suffered one mishap or the other. As a result, she has remained unmarried till date. On the other hand, Meenu dreams of being with a person who will come and sweep her off her feet by rendering Bhartiyar’s poetry. As the story progresses, the sisters do come across men of their liking. But will their love succeed? A sudden turn of events forces them to take decisions against their will. What happens next?

TFF – Regional Cinema – Shwaas
Shwaas – Breath (श्वास) – is a Marathi Movie which released in 2004. The film was India’s official entry to the 2004 Oscars and won the National Award for best film in 2004. Its storyline is based on real-life incident in Pune.
Synopsis: An old villager — Vichare (Arun Nalawade) brings his 8 year old grandson Parshuraam (Ashwin Chitale) also known as Paarsha to a doctor in Mumbai to diagnose the child’s eyes. Dr. Sane (Sandeep Kulkarni) diagnoses child as a victim of the rare retinoblastoma – a rare retinal cancer. After consulting with other colleagues in US and UK doctor finds that only way to save child’s life is to perform an operation that will leave the child blind. He cannot be operated without this knowledge as it was against ethics. The film then depicts the grandfather’s struggle to accept the reality that the only way to save his grandson is at the cost of his eyesight.

TFF – Regional Cinema – Nayak
I am starting a new feature whereby I shall put up movies – classics, foreign language, regional cinema and finally we can have some good collection and references to bank upon. I would like to request Sputnik, Baba, FS, Tangoji, hithere to recommend cinematic pieces from time to time. I am naming it Tanqeed Film Festival which will be known as TFF from today.
Yes,I am not expecting a flow of comments but I perfectly believe that one day we will have great discussions and some other day, it will go unnoticed. But at the end, the visitors and readers of this emerging and great site will be served a choice and a good one! Thanks to Sputnik for this idea via his Geethanjali thread that was posted on Ratnam’s birthday. Hope he does not mind me taking this ahead in this manner. It is not only me who can post under this title. Anyone can. I am posting Ray’s Nayak. We have discussed Pather Panchali many a times, I may put that up later.

Regional Language Film: Geethanjali
Today is Mani Ratnam as well as Ilaiyaraaja’s birthday. So I am posting the movie Geethanjali, a National Award winning 1989 Telugu Film directed by Mani Ratnam with music by Ilaiyaraaja. The only jarring thing in the movie is a vulgar comic track. The movie was remade in Hindi as Yaad Rakhegi Duniya starring Aditya Pancholi and Rukhsar.
The movie is about two terminally ill patients and stars Nagarjuna and Girija who made her debut. Girija was supposed to star opposite Aamir Khan in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and she is even in the song “Jawaan Ho Yaaron”. She supposedly left JJWS because of a previous commitment.

The movie had all excellent songs by Ilaiyaraaja including O Priya Priya which was copied by Anand-Milind in Dil. I am posting all of the songs here.
ContinueRegional Language Film: Manmadhudu
I am starting a new weekly thread called Regional Language Film. I want members to post a regional language film with English subtitles so that everyone can watch and enjoy these movies. I am starting this thread with the 2002 Telugu romantic comedy Manmadhudu starring Nagarjuna, Sonali Bendre and Anshu. A brief part of the plot and a couple of scenes are inspired from the 2000 romantic comedy What Women Want starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt.
I am surprised that this movie has not been remade in Hindi yet. For some weird reason it is going to Part 3 after Part 1 and to Part 8 after Part 6. So click on the playlist button (it is the first button from the buttons on the bottom right side) and select the correct part or use Next button before the part ends. Or else here is the link to the playlist – just click on Play All and it should play all the parts in the correct order.
