This movie has surpassed all my expectations that I had before entering into cinema theatre and mind you I really had HUGE expectations from this movie as I am a fan of Super hero movies. The movie looks so grand in the canvas as if it is the most expensive movie ever made. The graphics, the sound effects, VFX, background score and the action in pre and post climax is awesome and mind-blowing. The Introduction of krypton planet and action within the planet is executed brilliantly in 3D
This Superman is not the continuity/remake/prequel of any previous versions of Superman series. It is all together a new film that has references from where the concept was developed. This Superman does not wear any red undies over the pants and unlike the animation series he doesn’t get weak or surrender to the krypton powers because he is one of them and he was the lone natural birth after centuries to Jor El (Russel Crowe). As he had foreseen the devastation of his own planet he dispatches his son to another planet (Earth) far from the stars in order to protect the future offspring’s.
General Zod/Zark, who tried to overtake the power to rule the planet in a coup that calls for sentencing for some planetary numbers is set free when the whole planet itself gets destroyed with its power.Continue
Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment has produced two films on friendship and camaraderie — DIL CHAHTA HAI and ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA — both leaving footprints in the sand of time. Additionally, films like 3 IDIOTS and KAI PO CHE! explored bromance and bonding amongst friends with utmost sensitivity. FUKREY, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, also falls in the same space, yet is different from the aforementioned movies. This one’s a light-hearted, wacky fare that throws four youngsters in hazardous conditions, but, at heart, remains a fun and joyous ride.
FUKREY mirrors the mindset of the youth of today who look for shortcuts to raise funds and attain their targets/dreams. However, unlike the aforesaid movies, this one makes no political statement, nor does it tackle larger than life issues. Although the premise/subject material may give an impression that it’s a serious fare, the director and writers Vipul Vig and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba strike a fine balance between solemn and humorous. Frankly, the objective is to keep the spectator amused and FUKREY succeeds in this endeavor largely!
FUKREY is about four youngsters and their tryst to make it big in life. Choocha [Varun Sharma] gets dreams, which Hunny [Pulkit Samrat] construes and decodes into a lottery ticket number.Continue
The Deols are back! And this time they promise double the fun, double the masti and dhamaal, double the action, double the masala and entertainment… The pressure to deliver a stupendous hit is apparent when one attempts to carry forward the franchise. Every aspect of that movie has to be bigger and better than the earlier part. The Deols too carry the baggage of enormous responsibility on their broad shoulders. One expects the trio [Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol], who tasted success with APNE and YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, to take giant strides with YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA-2.
YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA-2 maintains the spirit of YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA, but has a new story to tell. It’s a new setting too. Furthermore, a new director [Sangeeth Sivan] gets the responsibility to helm the project this time. In addition, YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA-2 introduces additional characters, besides bringing in an Orangutan for a pivotal part. The focus, obviously, is on unabashed entertainment, loads of laughter, amusement and thrills.
The Deols are known for their charm and star appeal and Sivan and writer Jasvinder Singh Bath try hard — very hard, in fact — to ensure that the trio charm their way into our hearts yet again.Continue
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is the story of the relationship between two characters, Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) & Naina (Deepika Padukone), at two separate but defining times in their lives… first, when they are just out of college and standing on the crossroads of multiple decisions that will shape who and what they become… and then later on, in their late-twenties when they meet again, holding on to certain fulfilled and certain unfulfilled dreams, at a crossroads of another nature this time… how these two characters affect, change, befriend and eventually fall in love with each other is the journey the film aspires to take us on…
The movie is heavily inspired from DDLJ and borrows from some other movies as well. While Simran goes on a trip across Europe by asking for permission from her overbearing father Naina decides to just leave for a trekking trip to Manali by writing a letter to her overbearing mother. They both meet at the railway station just like Raj and Simran do and there is a reenactment of the DDLJ train scene where Raj helps Simran board the train. While Simran falls in love with this carefree, fun guy Raj who flirts with Simran’s friend, Naina falls in love with this carefree, fun guy Bunny who flirts with Lara.Continue
In India and most of the cinema outside, the audience stresses a lot of the Genre of the film. Is it a Romance..Or a comedy or an Action..or the Amalgamated features like Cop-Drama, Courtroom-Drama, Romantic Comedy, Action-thriller.. etc.
What is fascinating is that while it is very much possible that a writer, set out to write a Cop-Drama or a Rom-Com..it is equally possible that someone just a wrote story that came to his pen and it may borrow or be qualified for a genre or two.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is all about what the title says. It tells you a story about the dreams, aspirations, energy, awkwardness, inhibitions, ignorance and a whole lot of other emotional characteristics of a person who is new to adulthood and is out there to take the world by himself/herself and may or may not be ready to come out of their parents’s shell.
The first half of the film deals with Ranbir’s ambitions, Deepika’s struggle (to deal with herself and the world), Aditya Roy Kapoor’s ignorance and Kalki’s emotions. Its fascinating to see the four gel with each other and notice (and not notice) how different they are. Its interesting how the director does manage to focus on all of them and give the characters their due.Continue
Brief about “Ye Jawani Hai Diwani” – Story about 4 friends, 4 different characters, that has romance, comedy, songs, dance, cheesy lines and second half full of cliche with “NO” story. But It’s an abstract movie served in a commercial platter about individual characters, their traits and personalities, their approach towards relationship, life & commitments.
Ranbir is a chilled guy with “so cool” attitude who believes in his dreams, to live a jolly life with no regrets, Deepika is a topper, bookworm and medical student but bored of regular sophisticated daily routines of studies, Aditya – dear friend of ranbir and always lookout for an opportunity to get laid down and Kalki – friend of Ranbir and Aditya and loves Aditya discreetly and but gets hurt from Aditya’s constant flirting’s with other girls. All four goes to manali for trekking whereby deepika “the introvert” gells with all three of them and falls in love with Rabir but b4 she could tell her feelings Aditya finds a Scholarship letter of Rabir in his bag showing upon which Ranbir admits of deciding to go to Chicago to study journalism. Now watch to know where their destiny takes each of them.
Just like “Naina” and “Kabir” had two different world views, this film can be viewed in two different ways;
View 1: You go to watch a movie just like every other movie purely for entertainment and you will realize that the film was fantastic in the first half mainly due to its pace, funny moments, jokes, cool attitude of urban youth and one of the best Holi number of recent times.Continue

Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, Aditya Roy Kapur, Evelyn Sharma, Farooque Shaikh, Dolly Ahluwalia, Kunal Roy Kapur
Director: Ayan Mukherji
How much you enjoy Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani depends entirely on how much you’ve missed the typical Karan Johar formula. Wake Up Sid director Ayan Mukerji takes us on a familiar journey through holiday romances, family conundrums, and big fat Indian weddings. It’s predictable every step of the way, but Mukerji has a superb cast that never slips, even when his script does.
Straight-laced ‘Scholar Naina’ (Deepika Padukone) has little in common with thrill-seeking Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) when she joins him and his two best friends – Aditi (Kalki Koechlin) and Avi (Aditya Roy Kapur) – on a trip to Manali. But after a series of collective experiences, including a messy run-in with the locals, a midnight trek to a high-altitude peak, and intoxicated Holi celebrations, she’s lost her inhibitions and also her heart. Too bad Bunny is focused on chasing his dream to travel the world, unwilling to let anything or anyone hold him back. When they’re all reunited at a wedding eight years later, Bunny must ask himself if he really wants to make the same choices all over again.Continue
Opposites attract! He’s charismatic, gregarious and passionate with an indomitable spirit to explore places. She’s the archetypical seedhi-saadhi girl, Plain Jane actually, an academician who’s focused on attaining what she’s zeroed for herself as a career. Add two more characters who cross their paths in this beautiful journey called life. Now place these four straight-out-of-life characters in a bottle, shake with a swizzle stick and presto, a love story is ready to be served.
Come to think of it, Ayan Mukerji’s second outing YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is akin to his accomplished directorial debut WAKE UP SID. Yet diverse! The characters in both, WAKE UP SID and YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI, undergo a metamorphosis and transform into mature individuals with the passage of time. Life is a great teacher after all. At the same time, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI is dissimilar from films of its ilk — and conventional love stories too — because Ayan’s characters never embark upon the run of the mill, mundane route to express feelings towards each other.
Like all rom-coms, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI sparkles with romance, merriment and heartache, is brightly glossy and boasts of crackling chemistry between its lead actors, but Ayan makes sure the heady concoction never waters down.Continue
