Blood Money And Bumboo First Day Business

Blood Money has grossed around 1.75 crore nett as per early estimates on its first day. The film has collected pretty well outside the big metros and considering little awareness about the film its a fair first day number though its not so great against the release as it was pretty wide.

Still the film has put up better first day numbers than films like Ekk Deewana Tha, Jodi Breakers and London Paris New York which were bigger films in terms of production budget and promotion. Normal growth over the weekend can take it to 6 crore nett plus which would be a fair result.

Bumboo is a poor fare and probably collected around 10 lakhs nett on its first day.

Agent Vinod Has Huge Drop On 8th Day

Agent Vinod has seen a huge drop on its 8th day as it has collected around 1 crore nett compared to the 9.50 crore nett on its first day. The drop is nearly 90% and although first day was a holiday in some parts so collections where higher in places but even allowing for that it is still a huge drop.

A circuit like Delhi/UP which was not a holiday on day one showed a near 85% drop going from 1.65 crore nett approx on day one to 25 lakhs nett approx on day eight.

The film should close the second weekend with around 4.50 crore nett plus and and have lifetime business of around 45 crore nett.

Blood Money Opens Better At Single Screens

Blood Money has opened better at single screens than multiplexes with noon shows at single screens in the 25-30% region.

The single screen opening can give the film half decent figures in circuits like CP Berar, CI and Nizam as well as Maharashtra.

Areas like Delhi and Punjab are not performing at all with very low collections and it seems like the film will be dependent on business in single screens in and around the Maharashtra are as well as single screens of North India.

Agent Vinod has collected around 36.75 crore nett in its first week. The collections were very dull in the weekdays. Multiplexes are still giving Agent Vinod plenty of screen time in week two as no real competition but it will find it hard to collect well in week two. The first week collections from some circuits are as follows.

East Punjab – 3.34 crore

West Bengal – 1.43 crore

CP Berar – 1.56 crore

CI – 1.33 crore

Agent Vinod In Free Fall

Agent Vinod collections are in free fall as after a very low Monday, the Tuesday all India numbers are 20-25% down from Monday. The week now is looking at 37.5 crore nett total and lifetime may just touch 45 crore nett.

The single screen dropped started early and now multiplexes have also seen huge drops on Monday and again on Tuesday. The collections in Delhi/UP were down nearly 30% on Tuesday.

The film will have hardly any advantage of no major release this week and with Housefull 2 releasing next week it will collect practically nothing in week three.

Agent Vinod Drops Heavily On Monday

Agent Vinod dropped heavily on Monday as it grossed around 3.75 crore nett as per early estimates. It was expected as the fall in collections on Saturday indicated the film facing a tough ride from Monday onwards. The four day total of the film is 31 crore nett and the film is likely to have a first week of around 39 crore nett

The drops were huge all over at 55-65% from Friday depending on the circuit. Areas like CP Berar and CI dominated by single screens dropped heavily but even multiplexes in Mysore were recording very low collections.

Agent Vinod has competition from Blood Money in week two but that film is not that hot so would not have effected Agent Vinod much if it was holding up but now now not much can be expected in second weekend from Agent Vinod. The film could even struggle to be an average fare looking at drop on Monday.

Agent Vinod Has Limited Growth On Sunday

Agent Vinod failed to show a big growth in business on Sunday as it collected around 9.50 crore nett as per early estimates. The business was in a similar range to Friday and around 10% higher than Saturday.

The weekend business is around 27.50 crore nett which is a fair number but the weekend trend does not offer much hope for business from Monday onwards. The film has not been liked by the single screen audience while the multiplex audience has mixed appreciation. The best business has come in Mysore mainly due to a big holiday there on Friday followed by Nizam.

The first three day business is in the same range as Love Aaj Kal which is the biggest opener for Saif Ali Khan but Agent Vinod was showing on 50% more screens than that film.

Agent Vinod Second Day Business

Agent Vinod grossed around 8.50-8.75 crore nett on Saturday taking its two day total to 18 crore nett plus. There were holidays in a few states on Friday so a few circuits like Mumbai, Nizam, Mysore etc were also going to be up and down due to the holiday factor. But the fact that Delhi and Punjab which had normal two days and are multiplex heavy did not grow will make it tough for the film in the long run.

The single screens were always going to struggle so the drop there on Saturday is no surprise but multiplexes not showing major growth from Friday levels which were not huge means sustaining on Monday is unlikely.

Sunday should be better but remains to be seen if it is better than Friday and if so by how much

Agent Vinod Struggles On Saturday

Agent Vinod struggled at the box office on Saturday as all India collections look set to be lower than Friday going by the early figures coming in. Single screens are down in most of the country while with multiplexes it is a mixed picture with some having small gains and others down.

The biggest problem for the film is that the multiplexes that have shown growth, have done with minimal gains of 5-10%.

The only circuits which look like being higher on Saturday than Friday are Delhi/UP and West Bengal while others look set to be similar or lower. A few circuits may even be 20% down from Friday.

Delhi/UP – 1.67 crore

Agent Vinod Has Decent First Day

Agent Vinod had a decent first day of around 8.75-9 crore nett as per early estimates. The film was helped by a holiday in Maharashtra and good business at high end multiplexes. Single screen in places like UP, Bihar and Rajasthan had low collections

A 8.75-9 crore nett total is a par result looking at the release size of the film but considering there are mixed reports and no major jump in the evening shows on Friday the film may find it tough to show good growth on Saturday.

The early figures from some circuits are as follows

Delhi/UP – 1.66 crore

East Punjab – 81 lakhs

CP Berar – 42 lakhs

CI – 35 lakhs

Rajasthan – 48 lakhs

Agent Vinod Average Opening Kahaani Extraordinary Week Two

Agent Vinod is the second big release of the year after Agneepath and opened to an average response. The film collected around 50-60% at multiplexes and 30% in single screens and was aided by a holiday in Maharashtra where collections were 60-80%. The reports are mixed and it may find some patronage at multiplexes of big centres but will struggle at B and C centres.

Kahaani had an extraordinary second week with just a 25% drop from week one. The second week collections of the fim were challenging some of the biggies released last year like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and Rockstar. SUPER HIT

Paan Singh Tomar was rock steady in week three collecting around 3 crore nett. The three week total is 13 crore nett. SEMI HIT

Agent Vinod Has Fair Start At Multiplexes

Agent Vinod has had a fair start at multiplexes with 50-55% collections on average. Ahmedabad, Noida and select multiplexes of Delhi saw the best opening had good opening but other centres like Lucknow, Indore, and Ludhiana were less than 40% The film has plenty of shows so will manage decent collections at multiplexes.

But considering it is an action genre film and had huge promotion a good opening at multiplexes was desirable rather than an average one. The single screens are likely to be towards the 40% range when they get going at noon.

The first day should come out with fair collections due to plenty of screen space but growth will be the key for the film as sustaining or limited growth at its opening level will not be good enough for the film.

Kahaani Drops Just 25-30% In Week Two

Kahaani has sustained exceedingly well in week two with a collection of aound 17.50 crore nett. The drop is just 27% and its been years since such a small fall has been noticed in week two. Infact such a small drop has never been witnessed with a film that has been released on 1000 screens or more.

The two week total for the film is around the 41.50 crore nett mark and although it will see a much bigger drop this week 50 crore nett is a possibility as it will stabilise again in week four as it has huge appreciation amongst its target audience which is multiplexes.

In week three is a huge drop in shows so collections will follow but in week four this will not be the case and due to the appreciation if it has the screen time it will collect at the box office.
