Love making sequence with John makes Kangna nervous

#

Unknown to the waking world, John Abraham and Kangna Ranaut recently shot what’s arguably the most torrid and graphic love-making sequence in an Indian film.

The sequence for Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala ended up being far more explicit than planned. Apparently, John and Kangna got so involved in their characters that they gave their mutual love-making far more of their body and spirit than the script required.

Apparently, when Kangna saw the rushes she freaked out when she saw that her on-screen love-making had far more of her feelings and physique than she intended.

Says Sanjay Gupta, “It’s true Kangna and John shot a lengthy love-making scene for me. And it turned out to be far more authentic than we expected. I don’t think anything like this has been seen in Hindi films before. And yes, when she saw the rushes, Kangna did have reservations about the sequence after she saw how it had turned out. But then she decided to trust me completely. That’s what I really admire about her. She has surrendered to my vision and to my decisions regarding what goes and what doesn’t.”

Gupta will abide by his long-standing reputation as an aesthetic director by ensuring there are no excessive manifestations of passion between John and Kangna in their love-making scenes.

“The Hindu-Muslim divide exists” – Habib Faizal

Ishaqzaade: Theatrical trailer Sickened by the violence in his own film that ensues when a Muslim girl falls in love with a Hindu boy, Habib Faizal has decided to take a long break. Says the discernibly upset director, “I’m an extremely non-violent person. I knew there was a lot of aggression and violence in Ishaqzaade. I knew we had shot a lot of violent scenes. It’s one thing to shoot them. To watch them is quite another. When I watched my two beloved characters encounter such violence, my stomach churned. Such was the nature of the subject. You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs. And the sooner we stop trying the better.”

To solve the problem of the communal divide, Habib Faizal feels we first need to address the issue openly, which our movies fail to do by and large. Smirks Habib, “In that cast we might as well make government-sponsored DAVP (Directorate Of Advertising & Visual Publicity) short-films.”

In Ishaqzaade, the unabashed treatment of Hindu-Muslim relations has taken audiences by surprise. Never before have we seen characters from the two communities exchanging insults based on communal differences, so openly.

In fact, the Hindu hero Parma (Arjun Kapoor) refers to the Muslim heroine Zoya (Parineeti Chopra) as a ‘Musalli’.

Police complaint against Ram Gopal Varma

Police complaint against Ram Gopal VarmaStories of reputed directors getting ‘inspired’ by newcomers and then completely forgetting about them abound in Bollywood. And this time it involves Ram Gopal Varma and his upcoming film Amitabh Bachchan-Sanjay Dutt-starrer Department.

A screenplay-script writer has filed a police complaint of fraud against Ram Gopal Varma on May 7 for not paying him his dues for the film. The writer, Danish Raza says that around June-July 2010, one Neeraj Sharma from Ramu’s office contacted him to write screenplay of Department. “I met them, they looked at some of my scripts, liked my work and asked me to start work on the film,” says Danish. He started with the draft of the story and after many meetings sent the first draft on July 19, 2010, “which was okayed”.

“I further started work on the screenplay… Ramu worked on some scenes and we had a discussion like the normal creative process. My fee was fixed but all along, I kept asking for the contract. But they kept dilly-dallying. As a result, I stopped work and they sent me a soft copy of the contract via mail. Now I felt that they will sign the contract and I kept waiting for the hard copy which never happened and they stopped taking my calls,” says Danish.

Anushka’s special act in YRF’s film

Anushka’s special act in YRF's film While we’d told you Anushka Sharma plays the second lead in Yash Chopra’s yet untitled film, we can now reveal it’s a bit of an extended cameo.

Reportedly, Anushka agreed to play the second fiddle because Aditya Chopra convinced her of the role being modeled on that of Rani Mukerji in Veer-Zaara.

A source close to the film revealed, “Anushka plays a very quiet attentive character in the film. She makes an entry only in the second half. The reason she agreed to do it is because it is a YRF project and she can never say no to her mentors.”

Had Rani not done the Veer-Zaara role already and had there been no generation gap between Katrina and her, she would have actually taken over from Anushka.

The source further said, “In any case, there was no question of saying no to Aditya Chopra. Whatever hesitation Anushka might have had was washed away when she got to know about her role. Like Rani, Anushka plays SRK’s soundingboard, the girl he confides in about his heartbreak. Anushka had to be a good listener and that’s a tough one for her because she likes to talk.”

Buzz is Yash Raj is contemplating billing Anushka as guest appearance to make life easier for Chopra Sr.

And the industry sources blame Arjun and his past misdemeanours for it. Has it got something to do with Arjun’s reported liaison with his sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan?

I was always a well-behaved boyfriend: Shahid

I was always a well-behaved boyfriend: Shahid Not until he took off his shirt and ran with the horses in Kaminey. That was the beginning. Then came the split with then girlfriend Priyanka Chopra. Soon, everything changed. Suddenly, the boy who didn’t drink or socialise began partying. Hard. The guy who had longterm relationships was, within a short span of a few months, linked to Anushka Sharma, Bipasha Basu and Nargis Fakhri. The workaholic then took off for a vacation with his buddies. And finally, there was his “naked birthday” in Goa – a three-day pool party that began trending on Twitter after pictures of him and some babes in bikinis surfaced on the internet.

Shahid is suddenly sexy, with a fan following of 1.21 million on his micro blogging account. Singledom seems to suit him. Over a cup of cold coffee, he answers questions on love, life and the ladies…

You’ve become suddenly sexy! What’s changed? I’ve been sexy for a while (grins). Ever since I crossed 30, women have started taking me seriously. Until now, my target audience was school-going girls!

Does the sexy vibe have something to do with being single? No. I think it’s because I’ve stopped shaving for a while, so maybe the stubble is helping.

Kumar Sanu is back

Kumar Sanu is back He ruled Bollywood with his melodious romantic numbers in the 90s including Baazigar O Baazigar, Ghoonghat Ki Aar se and Aashiqui to name a few.

With around 17,000 songs to his credit by his own admission, Kumar Sanu went on a hiatus after a golden run in the music industry. Priyanka & I are not good friends: Ileana D’Cruz

Priyanka & I are not good friends: Ileana D’CruzIleana D’Cruz is ready to make her foray into Bollywood with UTV Motion Pictures’ Barfi! In her first ever interview since she took on the Anurag Basu project with Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, the actress gets talking about her journey from being a model to an actress to her first step into Bollywood.

Being a Mumbai girl, you started your career down south…
You can call me a Mumbai girl since I have spent the first ten years of my life here. Then I shifted to Goa where I got my first modelling break.

We believe it was Rakesh Roshan who gave you the first break…
It was for an advertisement that gave me a lot of exposure. And films followed. I actually never wanted to get into modelling either. I was a complete tomboy. You’d never see me wearing skirts. I happened to meet Marc Robinson in Goa. He felt I could be a good model. So, I gave it a shot.

While working down south, wasn’t the language a barrier?
It wasn’t easy. I was only 18 years old when I started acting. The language was alien to me. I kept my fingers crossed and did my best.

SRK is like a real Pathan: Shyam Kaushal

SRK is like a real Pathan: Shyam Kaushal I have done many action sequences in my career. My toughest however, has to be the fire sequence in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. As an action director, the risk factor is always high. But this topped it all. We had to shoot indoors. And the escape routes weren’t many. There were three cameras, seven people from my team, the light men and the actors. Plus there was this big fire.

It was shot in Film City. The scene was an integral part of the screenplay and we shot it on the same set even after it got burnt once. We had to keep the fire under control. The lives of so many on the sets depended on me. We had hired a safety team also. One small mistake and the results could have been disastrous. When I was a stuntman, I didn’t think so much. But as an action director, my role had changed. People trusted me. And I had to achieve that.

I had organised two teams – one to light the fire and the other to put it off. But it was keeping the fire under control that was the toughest bit. All the curtains would catch fire.

Love-making scenes of Hate Story reduced by Censors

It looks like Bangla bombshell Paoli Dam’s plans to seduce the nation into an orgasmic stupor with her never-before bold-and-brazen love-making act would now have to be content with a relatively tame visual treatment.

On Monday afternoon, Paoli’s ‘I-fu*k-with-those-who-fu*k-with me’ shock therapy in the film Hate Story got a bit of a jolt when the censor board ordered all the love-making scenes to be drastically reduced.

Speaking on the reduction of the sex content, Mr. J.P Singh, the CBFC (Censor Board Of Film Certifications)’s Regional Officer Mumbai, said, “All the love-making scenes, around 6 of them, were reduced by 50 percent and the film was given an ‘A’ certificate.”

Surprisingly, the hard-hitting dialogues have been left intact. Says Mr. Singh, “There was no cutting of the dialogues only visuals.”

While the Hate Story director Vivek Agnihotri said he was unaware of censorial developments as he was getting the prints ready, producer Vikram Bhatt seemed surprisingly gung-ho with the cuts.

Said Bhatt, “The censor board has been great. They’ve passed all the dialogues and only got us to cut the excesses in the love-making scenes. I’m extremely pleased with their progressive thinking.”

I’ve achieved the peak of physical fitness: Anil Kapoor

I’ve achieved the peak of physical fitness: Anil Kapoor Anil Kapoor, 53, has attempted the demanding sport of parkour for the first time

Anil Kapoor returns to the big screen (his last outing being Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol in 2011) as Counter Terrorism officer Arjun Khanna in Tezz. Needless to say, he is is charged about playing an upright officer who stops at nothing to achieve justice. Ajay Devgn locks horns with Anil in the film; one man is out to get back what was unjustly taken from him, while the other is willing to do whatever it takes to stop him. Both are fighting against time.

The action has been directed by Gareth Milne and Peter Pedrero, who has executed stunts for films like Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, Quantum of Solace and The Bourne Identity. Says Anil, “The film is mounted on an international scale. It is very heartening that our productions are now world class. The action was meticulously choreographed by Gareth and Peter, and the entire film was shot across England. Tezz is closest to my heart among my recent works as it is high on emotions, an edge that Indian cinema has over Hollywood.”

The film is being directed by Priyadarshan, whose last film with Anil – Virasat – was a blockbuster.

Imran Khan beefs up for Once Upon… sequel

Imran Khan beefs up for Once Upon... sequelImran Khan is all set to graduate from being a chocolate hero to a gritty gangster in director Milan Luthria’s sequel to Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. What’s more, Luthria has asked the actor to gain at least five kg to effectively portray his role.

In Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2, Imran plays Aslam, a street fighter with a heart of gold. Apart from the fact that this will be Imran’s first such role, Luthria is keen he puts on weight and looks suitably beefed-up for the part.

Confirming the news, Luthria said, “I am always excited by unusual casting and this is very unlike anything Imran has played before. It is unexpected for audiences. It’s a character with a mass appeal with great one-liners, in keeping with the first part of the franchise. I sense Imran is an extremely committed actor, and am sure he will go the distance to achieve the look I have in mind, which requires a strict dietary regimen and extended endurance training among others. I am awaiting Imran’s return from Chandigarh to discuss this at length with him. Meanwhile we’ve been in touch over the phone and email.”

Explained Luthria, “The whole idea is Imran is excited about a genre he hasn’t done yet.

Akshay Kumar to remake Malayalam film

Akshay Kumar will be starring in the Hindi remake of a Malayalam romcom directed by Priyadarshan.

The idea of remaking The Arab, The Camel and P Madhavan Nair seems to have appeared to the actor while working on Prabhu Deva’s upcoming action drama Rowdy Rathore.

In the past, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have acted in Hindi remakes of Wanted (2009), Bodyguard (2011) and Singham (2011), respectively. The films became a huge hit at the box office.

“I am making this Malayalam film of mine The Arab, The Camel and P Madhavan Nair in Hindi. That is the last film I did with Mohanlal. Akshay Kumar would feature in the Hindi remake and will also produce it,” Priyadarshan said.

The Arab, The Camel, and P Madhavan Nair is a 2011 Malayalam romantic comedy directed by Priyadarshan. The film stars Mohanlal, Mukesh, Lakshmi Rai and Bhavana.

“All I can say is that it’s a hilarious film. We have not thought of the title in Hindi,” Priyadarshan said.

His next offering is Tezz, starring actors Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Zayed Khan and Kangana Ranaut in his maiden action thriller which also features Mohanlal in a cameo.

The sleek action sequences in Tezz are directed by Gareth Milne and Peter Pedrero, who are also behind the stunts of Hollywood films like Harry Potter and The Bourne Identity.
